Give Fidya

Fasting is for a fixed number of days, and if one of you be sick, or if one of you be on a journey, you will fast the same number of other days later on. For those who are capable of fasting (but still do not fast) there is a redemption: feeding a needy man for each day missed. Whoever voluntarily does better than is required, will find it better for him; and that you should fast is better for you, if you only know.
(Qur’an 2:184)

When someone cannot fast in Ramadan and can’t make up the lost days afterwards (for example, because of ill health or pregnancy), then they should pay (fidya) for someone else to be fed.
According to scholars, the Fidya amount needed to be paid for the 30 days with respect to wheat price is Rs8,400; with respect to barley Rs19,200; with respect to dates Rs57,600; and with respect to raisins Rs115,200.
You can donate your Fidya to 12000+ orphans students studying in 390 schools of READ Foundation.
