Hike 2 Educate | Fun & Adventure for a Cause

READ Foundation has organised a Hiking event on Trial 5 Margalla Hills. It was 1st of its kind hiking event with a noble cause of spreading quality education to orphan children in remote areas of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir. The Event took place on November 12 at 10:00am.

A number of 70 participants, including 42 males, 25 females and 3 kids marked their feet in this event. People from all walks of life, i.e. professionals, students and media personnel were active part of this campaign.

 

What was the target?

The purpose of this hike was to raise funds for the education of orphans. The minimum fundraising target per participant was Rs.5,000 (1 step = 1 rupee contribution towards orphans’ education). The Hiking track of Trail 5 is around 5,000 meters (5 km) from its starting point to end point on Margalla Hills.

How Orphans will benefit from your generous donation?

All the money raised through this initiative will be spent for the educational needs of orphan children studying in the schools of READ Foundation. Currently 8,760 orphan children are studying in different schools of READ foundation, while every year the organisation provides educational needs through its Orphans Sponsorship Programme.
