READ Foundation is organising a Hiking event on Margalla Hills. This is the 2nd hiking event with a noble cause of providing quality education to orphan children in remote areas of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir. The event will take place on March 25, 2017, at 10:00 am.
Who can participate?
Anyone between the ages of 14 – 65, who is physically fit to participate and is interested in taking up the challenge of hiking 5 km round trip on the scenic tracks of Margalla Hills. What is the target?
The Hiking track is around 5,000 meters (5 km – round trip) in Margalla Hills. The purpose of this hike is to raise funds for the education of orphans. The minimum fundraising target per participant is Rs. 5,000 (your 1 step means 1 rupee contribution towards orphans’ education).

- Collect funds from family & friends.
- Fundraise at your workplace or business.
How will Orphans benefit from your generous donation?
All the money raised through this initiative will be spent for the educational needs of 8,760 orphan children currently studying in READ Foundation schools. A donation of Rs.20,000/- enables us to support an orphan child for his/her whole year educational needs and Tuition Fee, while a small donation of Rs.5,000/- can provide an orphan child with basic educational kit (incl. uniform, books and stationery) to fulfil his/ her needs for initial 2-3 months.
